My Practice

Let our friendly and experienced team care for you.

To make the experience in my practice a little more comfortable I provide ample room for additional chairs and space to accommodate strollers.

We have a toy section for younger children. I am always amused when children don’t want to leave because they are playing. My waiting room can sometimes look and feel like a playground, and I like it that way. I’ve usually delivered those very children!

Dr Sophie Vavladelis

Women’s Health General Practitioner (GP)

My practice includes the additional services of a General Practitioner consulting in my rooms to ensure we are providing holistic pregnancy care for our patients. Pregnancy is not just a time of observing a baby growing, but also a time to educate women about healthy practices that can optimise their baby’s health and their baby’s future.

Dr Sophie Vavladelis has a particular passion for promoting healthy eating and a healthy state of mind during pregnancy. Depression is experienced by a significant number of people, and pregnancy has a way of exacerbating this, both during and after pregnancy. Sophie (and I) understand the importance to identify and address depression as early in pregnancy as possible to help our patients.

Edwina Chan

Women’s Health Physiotherapist

Pregnancy can take a toll on a mother’s body, both on her back, and pelvic floor. Edwina Chan is an onsite physiotherapist in our practice who can provide help in preparation for childbirth and afterwards.  Edwina treats women for pelvic floor disorders and also treats musculoskeletal problems during pregnancy and postpartum.

Practice Administration Team

Sarah - Secretary

I have known Dr Karantanis for over 16 years in both professional and personal environments. For the past seven years I have been working for Dr Karantanis and Emmanuel managed both of my pregnancies, delivering safely my two beautiful boys.

I have a medical reception background in Obstetrics & Gynaecology industry. Whilst I’m not working I enjoy cake making, along with volunteering for Era SLSC Nippers and Sylvania Bulldogs Rugby Union club where I can watch my kids learn new skills, meet others and have fun.

Nicole - Secretary

Being a mum of three I have been working here with Dr Karantanis for the last four years being the “Friday Girl”. Emmanuel has a very calming nature and approach, which makes this one of the nicest working environments I have experienced and  I have worked in medical offices for over twenty years. I often find Dr Karantanis has many patients returning because they’ve been so happy with their experience.

Maris - Secretary

For the last eleven years I have been proud to provide reception and other admin support for Dr Karantanis. I really love my job and particularly enjoy interacting with the patients. I am passionate about providing quality customer service. From a patient’s first call to these rooms I am here to help in any way possible. It is wonderful to see the mums coming back for their second, third, fourth and even fifth child!  I am a mother of three and a grandmother of two. Outside of work I am a crafter and a beekeeper with boundless energy for life.

Sophia - Practice Manager

My job is to handle the administrative and accounting aspects of the office.

I love meeting and connecting with the women who come to the practice. Over the last 13 years I have seen women progress from young ladies, to pregnant mums, to completing their families, and beyond.

Outside of work I am kept busy with my two children and enjoy running, playing tennis, and cooking.
